Dr. Prem N. Ramkumar, MD, MBA, a leading dual-fellowship-trained orthopedic hip and knee surgeon based in Southern California, has been named Team Physician for the upcoming 2026 Winter X Games 2026 in Aspen, Colorado.

Dr. Ramkumar brings his expertise in sports medicine, arthroscopy, joint replacement, and high-performance athlete care to the world-class winter sports event, renowned for its technical difficulty and intense physical demands. His clinical background includes serving previously as an assistant team physician for professional sports teams and developing advanced rehabilitation strategies for elite athletes.

In his role at the Winter X Games 2026, Dr. Ramkumar will oversee onsite medical coverage for athletes across disciplines such as snowboarding, free-skiing, and other high-impact winter sport events. His responsibilities will include acute injury evaluation, surgical consulting, and the implementation of rapid-return and injury-protection protocols tailored to elite competition.
